KAAOSSTUDIO is a gym for creativity skills — a place where imagination is amplified and mistakes become raw material.

Opening in August 2026 in the beautiful atelier house of the late artist Birger Carlstedt in Espoo, Finland KAAOSSTUDIO invites people and companies to explore and build creativity as a critical human capability. The studio brings together individuals and organisations of all kinds.

KAAOSSTUDIO emerges at a time when people, organisations and societies are urgently searching for ways to renew, and to find hope.

It is a space to face uncertainty not with fear, but with imagination and creativity. For all of us, but especially for young people.

But how do you actually train it?

How do you practise creativity as a set of skills in its own right, not tied to any single discipline or domain, but practised through materials, thinking, and making?

At KAAOSSTUDIO, creativity skills are developed through a combination of cognitive learning and, above all, bold experimentation and hands-on making.

Creativity is not a mysterious gift reserved for a few. It is a set of skills, ways of thinking and ways of working that can be developed through practice, like any other skill.

Creativity skills are not learned at a distance or remotely, but through making. We build, shape, test materials, paint, and create prototypes and unfinished work, alone and together. We practise making mistakes, three-dimensional perception, shifting perspectives, and tolerating uncertainty.

What matters is not the outcome, but the way doing opens up thinking, strengthens courage, and builds confidence in our own creativity and in finding unexpected solutions.
